1. Location of Mühlheim centre on Google Maps.
Route direction to Pestalozzistrasse 2, Mühlheim am Main
The train-route is: Wiesbaden or Mainz <–> Frankfurt Airport <–>
Frankfurt main Rly. Station <–> Offenbach (Ost) <–> Mühlheim (Main) <–>
Hanau. Our nearest surface train (S-Bahn) station “Mühlheim (Main)”
is about 22 minutes from Frankfurt Hbf (Frankfurt Main Rly. station).
One needs to take a train (S-8 or S-9 direction Hanau). Our station
“Mühlheim (Main)” comes after the station “Offenbach Ost”. Similarly
it is about 33 minutes from Frankfurt airport by train (S-8 or S-9
direction Hanau), and one has to get down at “Mühlheim (Main)”.
From the other direction, i.e. from Hanau Hbf one can reach our
station in 7 minutes by S-8 or S-9 direction Wiesbaden. Those who
are travelling from Airport or the main Rly. station carrying heavy
luggage, or those who arrive at late hours, should go up to Hanau
and take a taxi to our Ashrama. It may take about 10 minutes and
the taxi fare is generally 16 euros.
From our station one can reach the house on foot in about 10
minutes. As one gets down at the station “Mühlheim (Main)”, one
sees a tall tower towards the north. Please follow the Exit (Ausgang)
through the underpass towards “Stadtmitte”. Then walk to the foot of
the tower, and keeping the tower to your left proceed to the
crossing with Schillerstraße; the name "Schillerstraße" is not written
there,
but at the "Stop" shield there follow the direction of the right arrow (On the other
side of the Schillerstraße facing you, you will find the direction with the arrow as "Eihbahnstraße",
i.e. 'One-way', to
turn right); walk a little distance and the second-left
street is Pestalozzistraße. On the entrance of the street there is a
cement statue of a Dinosaur-Lizard to the right. Follow the street until
you reach the T-junction with Gerhart-Hauptmann-Straße. The corner house
to your right is the ashrama.
2. Location of Bindweide centre on Google Maps.
From the South-East (e.g. North Frankfurt)
Take Autobahn A45 till Herborn-West exit (Exit - 26). You hit a T-Junction and see the Police station opposit to you. Take left and drive on the Bundesstraße 255 towards Hachenburg/Altenkirchen. Approximately 10 km prior to Hachenburg you arrive at Kirburg. At Kirburg take the second exit on the right towards Betzdorf/Elkenroth. Then drive straight (please do not turn at the crossing towards Betzdorf !). Drive further straight through Mörlen und Nauroth. Then take the turn to the left towards Gebhardshain/Rosenheim and drive till Rosenheim. At Rosenheim follow the signs towards Gebhardshain until you drive around and past the Rosenheimer Kirche. After a few meters turn right towards Bindweide. Continue on the "Priority Road" (Vorfahtrsstraße) and through the town. After a meadow and small stretch of woods, you will arrive at Vedanta Haus which is the first building on the right-hand side.
From the South (e.g. Frankfurt Airport)
Take Autobahn A3 towards Cologne till you reach the exit Ransbach-Baumbach-Exit No. 38. Follow the direction to Hachenburg. The road is well marked with sign boards and it goes straight upto Hachenburg. In Hachenburg you will come to a roundabout where you need to turn left (taking the third exit). After turning left, you need to take the next street to the right (direction: Nister). [From A3 one can take other Exits like, 40 or 37. In that case please follow the map above to get guidance. Exit 40 takes one by No. B255 and via Langenhahn on to No. B414 to Nister.] Drive by Nister, further through Luckenbach and then to Malberg. At Malberg do not take the turn towards Rosenheim, but take the next angular right towards Steinebach. It goes from this place till you hit a crossing, where you will find a sign board pointing towards Bindweide. Follow the direction till you reach a T-Crossing. Turn right on the Rosenheimer Str. and proceed a few yards — the last house on the left is the Vedanta-House.
From the West (e.g. from Köln or Bonn)
Take Autobahn A560 towards Hennef and drive through till the Autobahn becomes a Bundesstraße B8. Drive in the direction of Altenkirchen/Herborn. Take a right shortly after Birnbach (before Altenkirchen) in the direction of Herborn first on to No. B256 then on the Bundesstraße B414. [The Traffic signboard here says: Herborn (Hachenburg)/ Bad Marienberg/ Gummersbach]. Follow the road till the road turns left towards Kroppach (prior to a railway crossing). [The traffic signboard here says: Gebhardshain/ Limbach/ Mörsbach/ Heimbach.] Follow the road to Kroppach and continue for approximately 10 Kms through a few villages till you get to see signboards indicating Bindweide. Follow the signs till you hit a T-Crossing in Bindweide. Turn right here on the Rosenheimer Strasse. The last house on the left is the Vedanta-House.
From the North (e.g. from Dortmund)
Take Autobahn A45 (Sauerlandlinie) till the Freudenberg exit, Exit No. 20. From there drive in the direction of Freudenberg/Betzdorf and drive past Kirchen towards Betzdorf. At Betzdorf drive till you find the signboard indicating the end of Betzdorf and the road splits right towards Hachenburg. Take the road and at the next town Steineroth you will find a white board indicating "Schaubergwerk Grube Bindweide". Take the turn and drive through Elben towards Steinebach. After a few side roads, follow the signboard (Besucherbergwerk) and also Bindweide. Then drive through past the town and into the next township. The last house on the left is the Vedanta-House.
Using Public Tansport to Bindweide
You may take a train to Betzdorf (Sieg). If possible, you will be picked up at
the station (at 10 Euro), or, take a taxi to Bindweide (costs approx. 17 Euro).

Just outside
the small station there is the bus stop. There are few buses to Bindweide. But
one can take a bus to Steinebach. Please see the map and you know Steinebach bus
